“Volunteering at the Food Pantry has made me appreciate my blessings.”

— Jennifer Tremose

Jennifer started volunteering at the Pantry in 2008.  She and her friend helped organize the clothing the Pantry collects and then displays for patrons to take what they need.  After that, Jennifer began picking up donations from various sponsors and bringing them to the Pantry to be added to the food boxes that are prepared for members of our community in need.  Now, Jennifer volunteers between 16-20 hours per month.  She prepares food boxes, helps unload and sort donations from a number of the Pantry’s generous sponsors and does whatever else is needed to help the Pantry achieve its mission and vision.

In addition to serving weekly, Jennifer is largely responsible for the Christmas Shop.  The Pantry saves new items that have been donated throughout the year.  For approximately two weeks during the holiday season, these items are made available for the families who visit the Food Pantry.  Seeing smiles and a sense of relief on the faces of the “shoppers” is one memory she cherishes.
